Certification Backlog??

Now that the FAA is back in business, post shutdown, anyone know what the backlog is like for getting your plastic??

 

I got a type rating almost two years ago and was surprised to get my plastic in about two weeks. I'm curious if that's still the case.

Psh... pre-shut down it was taking us around a month before we got the new shiney in the mail. I took my CFI ride a week and a half ago, I'll let you know when I get it in the mail if you want.

For all of you that are sitting on the edge of your seats just waiting and wondering when I'll get my plastic, well the waiting is over. It showed up in the mail yesterday!!

Two months later I have my permanent CFI cert... I got mine in the mail yesterday as well.

If you go to the FAA website, and look at Airman Certification it has a note at the top of the page under News and Highlights that says what time period they are processing.

It's usually fairly accurate, but I don't know exactly how accurate it is.

Thanks AngelFire . . . I've never noticed that. From my experience, it seems to alway vary. I've had my permenant arrive in the mail as early as two weeks after the checkride to as long as past the 120 day limit of the temporary. Paper versions of the 8710 are always quite a wait.

Dang, they are still a month behind from when I did my check ride!
