I saw a Heli Expo for Newbies thread, but is there a list of who is attending the convention this year? Seems I'll be out there at some point, possibly entire convention.

Are you referring to the Heli-success segment or the entire expo?

Count me in!

I can predict a few that will be there.

Lyn

Mikemv

DP

Goldy

Richard

Randy Rowles

And I'm sure I could come up with many more

Either actually. I just wanted to get an idea of whose path I might get to cross from those I know on here already or maybe get the chance to put a face to the Screen-name I see regularly. I figured there are others looking to do the same so I opened this up.

I get in on Monday, will be at the job fair and cruising the floor Tuesday and Wednesday morning, then heading home on Thursday.

GM,

Not sure I will make it this year. I was laid off and am looking for another job. If I get one before HeliExpo, I will not be going. If I don't, I will drive over for the Job Fair and walk the floor a bit. If I am still in that boat, I may drive back for IHST meeting after.

Enjoy the show.

What are you flying in and for whom?

EC-130B4, for my non-incorporated, non-profitting, part 91, aviation company of 1, Me, My Self, and I. : ) If only someone paid me to fly....

Haha. You say that now. It being a job can take the fun out of it.

Are you displaying it? Or where do you park? I flew in a display one (Agusta) a few years back. That's probably the best part is the fly in and fly out!

Nope not displaying. I wouldn't be able to enjoy the show worrying constantly about someone's kid hanging off the towel rack or taking a souvenir knob from those expensive GTNs or G500H. I don't know how the tour pilots deal with the public getting in and out 40 times a day on those poor helicopters. I don't even let my own family operate the doors. No matter how many times you've flown with me, I'm buckling you in like a child and closing your door for you. : )

She will be tucked safely away at a nearby FBO. I'm flying down just for the experience and weather permitting will be filing IFR.

IFR B4? Nice. I would love to see the RFM on that or just BS over a beer on how you worked that out. (I'll stay away from the doors.)

There is no excuse for me not to go since I live in Anaheim. It looks like I will be speaking on a mentoring panel for new pilots. It should be fun.

Wow, IFR capable EC130! That is one hell of an upgrade. Sounds like I might get a chance to see her while it's parked at the FBO. Maybe I will see you around.

Hahahahahaha. No no I'm sorry if that was misleading. It's not an IFR B4...thats impossible to my knowledge. What I meant was if it's a clear day I can file IFR for training and be under the hood the entire way with an observer CFII along side. It's just a proficiency thing. As soon as ATC is about to stick you into a cloud you have to say unable, must maintain VFR (always interesting but they understand).

Is there a good VR watering hole where we can meet up Monday night? Maybe we could pick one in advance (locals know a good spot?)?

McGavin.....Calling McGavin.... We need a watering hole within walking distance (or shuttle) where we can all meet up. As long as no one is camera shy, I'll be happy to take some snaps to post up of all of us together if it all works out.

I would recommend ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney. It's a liitle touristy and not my normally first choice, but it's walking distance from the Convention Center and all shuttles lead to Disney. They have decent food and a very large bar area.
