Maverick7 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I was wondering what was the best air shows or helo expos around the U.S. I know there are quite a few air shows, but what are the best helicopter based air shows? I went to the EAA Air venture ant Osh Kosh Wisconsin and was shocked to find less than 10 helicopters. There were plenty of planes but no Military presence either. Could this be due to the sequester? I'm aware the at the 2014 Air Venture the Thunder Birds are going to be there, could this also mean there are going to be some military birds there as well? Many thanks Quote
pilot#476398 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Only been to one airshow, but it was a "helicopter" airshow. It was in San Carlos, California sometime in June I believe,...a few years ago. It was pretty cool. They had Otto the clown helicopter (a 300 with a goofy face on it) doing tricks, a few Robbie showcopters also goofing around. The local fire service huey did a fire drop and there were plenty of military choppers on display, as well as the local Coast Guard, LE, and ENG. A couple of 44s were also there giving rides. Went to Heliexpo in Vegas last year. They also had a number of cool choppers to check out,...and some hot chicks too! Edited February 7, 2014 by pilot#476398 Quote
