Mikemv Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Just returned home from Heli Expo. A full week of work for me in Educational presentations, NTSB & RCS challenge, USHST SMS presentations and general admin with peers. Also a face 2 face for our USHST JHSIT twg. and an extra day yesterday for the IHSS which was informative. I learned that the S300 may return to production by an alternate vendor with a royalty paid to Sikorsky. Two aircraft a week and supporting parts for two aircraft a week - no joke. More on that as the info flows to me, do not ask for more info as I can not speak of it further. I was approached by a major flight school to bring FITS SBT methodology to their training curriculums. I should know more on that this week. Also, someone wants me to do something in Singapore. Another follow up item. Robinson wants me to add a half day to their program at the factory and regional ADM/SRM seminars + SMS training. I had time to spend two whole hours on the floor on Thursday. I did miss seeing the X-copter Sim but learned that Frasca has something new coming out!!!!!!!!!!!! The best part was meeting many of you, seeing my brother-in -law at the House of Blues party and everyone enjoying him. Best Wishes to All, What time zone am I in now??????????? Mike Quote

HeliNomad Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Favorite moments of the show: 1. Flying the MB EC-145. New life goals are set for this helicopter... Man what a machine. Makes the EC-130 feel like flying a paper kite. That force trim is interesting to deal with in the hover. The test pilot kept telling me to just press the FTD button if I didn't like the pressure. Seemed weird to me having never flown a helicopter with force trim. That autopilot is amazing...seems almost silly to hand fly that aircraft anywhere. 2. Awards Dinner. After all the boring company parties which are all the same... eating, drinking, shmoozing...it was nice to be at the dinner seeing all these awesome aviators getting honored for their achievements. I thought Deborah Hersman's keynote address was tremendous and heartfelt. I hope they put her speech on video for others to see. 3. Meeting awesome people. There are loads of inspiring people in this industry. It was a privilege to meet only a few. Heli-Expo 2014 was a total delight. I will be in Orlando for sure. Quote
