cburg Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I’ve heard of a few (legal) work-around solutions if used strictly for non-commercial flying. Anybody know the scoop or where to get it? I’m looking at buying one that has plenty of calendar time left, but not hours. 1 Quote
sorcer Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Even if you mange to somehow get around the FARs you will have a tough time finding an insurance company to cover you. Even if you mange to insure it, it could still blow up if you are ever in an accident. Quote

adam32 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 The loophole is in the calendar life, you can fly it past the 12yr overhaul requirement but not past the life limited component times. At least as far as I've understood it. Quote
