Are there any operations out there who rent helicycles, like the Eagle or Mosquito?

I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would love to just fly a helicopter for fun, but cannot afford the rental cost of an R22. Seems like a good idea for a school, or a private company near a school, in a busy helicopter area, like LA to acquire a few? Just get your PPC in a 22 then rent the helicycle for a fraction of the price!

Amature Built experimental catagory, can not be used for Hire or compensation. at least not here in the U.S. wish they could, it would sure open up a lot more cheaper flying.

It's a great idea though. I find myself curious as to why a factory built mosquito can't be certified, but then again, I know nothing of the certification process. I just don't understand how those rules apply to commercial use of experimental helicopters and not to the experimental fixed wings that are used commercially for the Red Bull Air Race.

I had yo build my Helicycle, and have enjoyed flying it four years now.

We enjoyed your videos as well.

You can apply to the FSDO for an exception to provide instruction in an experimental, but that would only help if you were getting transition training or something. Not what you're looking for.

Someone could set up a flying club or partnership, something where you wouldn't be renting, just sharing costs. That'd be considered non-commercial and could be done with experimental aircraft.
