With school supplies sales and tax free weekend here, curious to know of any supplies I could stock up on for wocs... and take advantage of the sales. Ie: pencils, paper, notebooks, markers, etc...

Note cards, highlighters, pens/pencils, and maybe a couple of notebooks with paper. The first three are going to be your bread and butter. Also, for your stenciling, I'd get a couple of the permanent markers that are specifically for laundry items. I'm sure someone else will chime in with something else, but that is what I went through the most of.

Sharpies both white and black. If you want your shirts to be readable after the first wash use fabric paint and not fabric marker. I used sharpies and it works but hey no one really checked legibility lol.

Also get lumocolor FINE tip pens if you can while on sale. Otherwise they have them here at Rucker

What's the WOCS policy look like for going over in the OH quantity? Is it strictly adhered to? Packing list specifies 1 pkg of note cards, but that seems underkill after glossing through the WOCSOP. It also states that "the required quantity is also the authorized quantity. Duplicate items are considered static items and could be grounds for elimination from the program." Are there opportunities to go to MCSS during WOCS or is resupply a request by memorandum kind of thing?

You will have ample time at mcss as well as the barber. Which is in the same plaza thing.

Duplicate items/ static items refer to things like boots that you never wear that are for display only.

I brought the very minimum according to the packing list. That was it. Nothing more.

I wound up buying notecards, highlighters, pens (I brought gel and they require ballpoint), and medical tape cause I chose to travel without that item. Plus I traveled without hygiene stuff so I bought that when I got here.

The notecards and stuff will go in your PSA (desk if you will). I wouldn't bring extra uniform stuff unless you bring a pair of field boots/ruck march boots. Other than that stick to the list for uniform items (down to underwear too) Everything else is up to you how much you want to bring but the list states the minimum.

On the optional side it says 15 hangers, is it necessary to bring them or are the lockers already stocked with them?

You got it! I didn't bring a single one. With a combination of the ones that are stuffed in wall lockers from candidates past and the ones you'll get your ACU's back on from laundry, you'll be fine.

The GorTex is on the optional list. I'm all for taking as little as possible, but Is it worth tugging it along?

Nope. I brought mine that was way nicer than the issued one from CIF but due to uniformity issues, it sat in the security room the whole time.

No static items allowed. Anything above and beyond the authorized amount must either go into the security room, trash or your POV. The WOC SOP will advise the MIN required to be displayed and if you don't have that due to them being in laundry, you'll have to fill out a DIM (Display Items Missing) Card. Once a week you're required to go to the shoppette and get haircuts which is next to clothing sales. There, you'll find any supplies you will need.

Under is strictly tighty whities?

Per the WOC SOP, they can be any of the authorized colors. I saw folks with brown BCT style ones or white boxer briefs. Don't remember anyone getting crap for what underwear they wore.
