Ardo09203
17:00 and proud of it haha OER shows that's a pass and that's what matters!Hell yea! Passed that BCT EOC AFPT with a 17:28 (17:30 was passing!) Proud of it! Not really, but I was at the time. Our company never really ran, and I was slow as molasses coming into BCT (19:55 on first 2MR!) and I still am. Hoping to get much faster with all the running they say we do in AIT. Ardo09203
Man, get to spend New Years standing in line to receive initial issue. Those were the worst three days. 3? Yamer
Your initial PT test at AIT will be faster, then EOC AIT will be the best one, probably of your career... Heads up.... The state will use your EOC at AIT for your packet. Well mine did. And luckily I did great on it because I didn't know they were doing that. Push yourself not only to pass it to graduate but because it's probably gonna be in your packet too. I know that if we run regularly at AIT (which a lot of people say we do in C co.) then I can drastically improve my run time.
shainbourassa
I'm sure your aware but that is all depending on how long it takes you to get a completed packet.

Linc
The Kw Has a greenhouse for your head to fit. But it sucked being tall flying it.The "greenhouse" isn't for tall people to fit, it is for visibility in clearing turns so you aren't staring through the roof. Yep, you were right.....16:32 today, still just barely passing from the 16:36 min, but it's almost a full min faster than my BCT EOC....Hoping to be in the 15's by the end of it all...We run ALOT here in AIT. So far we've run 3-4 miles every other day or so. MWF are run days so it's either an AGR, Release Run, or 60/120's.
Eaglegrad07
I remember those run days at Eustis in the freaking cold rain, snow and wind running along that railroad track and then turning around at the Y or heading for a run to the stables or the bay. MEMORIES.....

dlaw89
If someone is right around a 250 APFT, will they be about a 300 by the end of basic training?
Yamer
280 to 300 is a huge plateau for me... Can't get on top of it
StockTrader
If someone is right around a 250 APFT, will they be about a 300 by the end of basic training? We had some people jump from 230 to 290. Personally, I was a 261 initial PT test at BCT. Left with a 290. Its weird though because I feel like I am in worse shape now. But definitely do-able if you put the motivation in. We had groups knocking out pushup situp drills on personal time.

The current pt test is NOT a measure of fitness I can promise you that. The 2-mile run may separate the fit from the fat, but that's about it. All the APFT measures is how many pushups and situps you can do in two minutes, definitely not how strong you are or how much muscular endurance you have. Why you ask? Not everyone has the same size levers/body weight. I'm 6'7", workout (hard) every day, look pretty big, but can only get about 60 pushups. I max the run and situps, but my super long body combined with the fact that I have to go twice the distance between the up and down positions as everyone else ruins my pushup count. There are guys/gals out there whos torsos are much longer than their legs and therefore have a really hard time with the situps and run. What I'm gettin at is that.... Well I hate the PT test for more than my own personally selfish reasons haha.

The PT test is nothing more than a gut check, most graders that have been in the Army more than a couple of years aknowledge this and don't grade on ridiculous standards. brackac
Now, for the run. When you start running, identify every warrant officer in front of you, and run faster than them. They are your competition. Run them down. Either you pass out, throw up, or run a fast time.
