Guest pokey Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 does anyone know the manufacturing process of the spindle? i would imagine the blank is initially forged, then the rest is machined,,, machined threads ? i don't think most parts (except for bolts) have rolled threads---which are much stronger, because of the "grain flow" who on here works for Enstrom? 280fxColorado Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Revised AD: 20% of inspected spindles showed evidence of cracking! http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgAD.nsf/0/f5030410d75defef86257e23006a16c9/$FILE/2015-08-51_Emergency.pdf Quote
Goldy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Wow, these inspections no doubt saved a few lives. 20% is a much bigger number than I expected to see. Quote
Spirit of '69 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Updated EAD to 1,500 TIS, and and SDB for every 300 hours after. Most 480's and 480B's have TT straps, and are exempt. Quote
