Skysurfer
Hello, Looking for a source for swivel hooks for the cargo end of a 100 foot line for a Robinson R44.I am new to the Robinson R44, but I am used to using a swivel hook at the end of the line when longlining. Often lifting unusual loads that have a tendency to twist so a swivel is important. This thing is for personal chores so I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on remote hooks and such.Hopefully someone will have a lead on where to pick up simple swivels good enough for 800 pounds. Thanks much. 500F
My advice would be to avoid a swivel hook for irregular loads, especially if they are light loads. The safeties on those things break off and the load rolls out with the slightest bit of side load. Miller makes a good swivel hook if you are talking heavy loads. The one for a medium is about 2k, but I'm sure they have smaller cheaper models. If you just want an inline swivel, you can get one from Wagner Smith for about $200. They are rated at 5,000lbs with a 3:1 safety factor. Hi-Line and Slingco are the two common brands.
