Hello all! I am currently going through all of the mumbo jumbo that has to be done between selection and BCT. I am doing my best to check and double check my references and whatnot before I ship, because I hear even a small discrepancy (even with someone with a clean record) can mess you up in the future with a TS clearance. Furthermore, I have dug and dug, and I am interested; do many WO Aviatiors ever get a TS clearance? I was under the impression most do. Thanks folks!

You only need a secret going in. Shouldnt be too much of a hassle, although a few kids in my wocs class got hung up for a few months due to clearance issues. Not sure how many get a TS unless you are going somewhere like the 160th.

Holy crap your recruiter was right? What are the odds

Hey we are not all clueless, we get a bad rap with programs like this because there is no training or anything available to us, so unless you have looked into it for yourself or they are coming from an aviation unit then most have no exposure to the WOFT process. Most recruiters will probably not have a serious WOFT applicant walk through their door for the three year duty assignment.

No, you're right, not all are bad... Comparatively though, most offer advice that is incorrect, therefore making it more common that they are wrong.

Hence my shocked message, he found one that was right, a diamond in the rough.

Word twister... Sheesh lol

I didn't intend that to sound quite as defensive as it sounded, but more of trying to spread the word that recruiters don't have really any training or briefing on the WOFT program. Most recruiters I work with have only met one or two Warrant Officers in their career (most are combat arms guys), never mind knowing what it takes to become an aviator as a civilian. It is really unfortunate that street to seaters almost have to rely on a recruiter to do some of the process.

I completely agree. The warrant officer community used to have informational training provided to recruiters and units regarding everything but I'm sure it's not enough.
