Felon Licensing

Nobody at the FSDO has any handcuffs or any arrest powers. If for someone reason an FAA matter turns into a criminal matter, you would be talking to the FBI.

Actually, the FAA does have criminal investigators with the powers of arrest, kind of. The FAA is a part of the Department of Transportation, and the DOT has special agents with federal arrest authority.

From the FAA's website - "We refer all criminal investigations to the Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General or the Federal Bureau of Investigation." Some of those DOT criminal investigators are assigned specifically to FAA investigations in FAA offices.
