Caelus Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I know you will all think its silly, but I just had to tell you guys, my wife got me one of those intro flights last Christmas. I finally went on it, and holy crap, it was the coolest thing I've ever done! I knew it would be cool but I didn't expect it to be so exhilarating! It was like a roller coaster, we were doing these hard bank turns and all that with the doors off... I mean I know I don't need to tell you guys, you know already what it's like, but man I had no idea how cool it was going to be. Also, hovering that thing is freaking hard, I had a couple of good ones though before the instructor had to rescue me. He gave me the controls (just the cyclic at first) right after we took off, and I was like, uhh, what? I was scared to death, I was sure I was going to plummet us into the trees. I had a death grip on the cyclic just trying to keep us straight and level and alive. He was like "Alright have some fun with it, let's see what you can do" and I said, dude, I'm happy just flying straight. After a couple of minutes I relaxed and asked him to give me a target to fly to so he gave me a little route to fly, it included flying over a water tower, which also scared the shh out of me. By the end I didn't want to give it up. Last thing we did was auto from a hover, which was maybe the scariest thing, just knowing what it was and that feeling of dropping out of the sky. Then the instructor flew in a straight line down the strip while spinning around in circles, I was impressed. I can also say that Microsoft FSX with the realism turned all the way up prepared me exactly none lol. I wish it wasn't so expensive, I'd be doing it all the time while I'm getting my package together. 4 Quote
