Hello, I was wondering if anybody could answer some of my questions about my chances on getting selected for WOFT.

  • AGE: 22
  • GT: 118
  • SIFT: 53
  • APFT: 290 average
  • Active Army E-5 (Infantry) 4 YRS TIS
  • College: 9 credits (english class / Criminal justice)

I haven't completed my packet yet it is almost done, I am trying to get in by the May board.

My flight physical was a very difficult to get because I had a previous spontaneous pnuemothorax back in Afghanistan in 2013. It took 2 years of bugging the flight surgeon, but it finally went up to FT. Rucker and got accepted. Also does anyone know how many people apply to these boards and get selected?

There is a thread dedicated to the stats of the individuals that have been selected for WOFT, scroll down a page or two. Also if you look at the Milper message for the selection list it will show you how many applied for 153A and how many were selected.

Good luck. I am going for either the March or may board as well. Who have you contacted for letters? I know it's a little harder for you eleven bang bangs to find warrants. Where are you stationed?

These are my stats, I mean it's a whole Soldier concept which is constantly changed by having different people with different views on each board. One month might be gung ho for college, one might be lookin for PT studs idk.

Age:24

GT:117

Sift:52

College:36 credits towards Associates in Aviation Management

APFT:270

Active Army E-5(P) 5 years TIS 1.5 years TIG

LORs:Company CO, BN CO, CW4-BN SP, CW5 Division G3Air (former Aviation Branch Manager)

Prior leadership: 3 years Squad leader, acting platoon sergeant bullets on ncoer, currently serving as Section Sergeant.

NCOERs: first was 2-1, most recent 1-1

MOS: 15R Apache Mechanic

At least you'll know the stats of one person you're going up against.

But as I said in a previous post good luck, I wish everyone who applied could get a chance to fly. Generating the packet successfully is enough to drive anyone insane.

I am currently on a rotation in South Korea, I have a CW4 that I am going to get in touch with for my LOR. I hear he has put 28 people through flight school so I'm sure he has a good reputation for recommending soldiers to become a Warrant officer.

Nice hopefully he squares you away! I'd say judging off of past selections we both stand a fair chance of selection
