I'm currently in the reserves and want to switch back to active duty as a Flight Warrant. I took the SIFT and have started gathering LOR's, but I am not sure how to schedule the flight physical? Do I just call a army hospital and schedule an appt? Any help would be appreciated as every recruiter I talk to seems to be at a loss for words.

Not sure if I could be much help because I'll be applying as a civilian, but my recruiter was the one to set all the tests/physicals appointments for me. My recruiter is new and had no idea what the WOFT program was. I had to bring plenty of printouts from USAREC to convince her. Now she's helping me out.

I could use a little advice on this as well. I have read it happening a number of different ways. Some seem to think you can schedule it by yourself. I have read that it should be scheduled AFTER your board interview. There have also been some places where they said it took a while to get approved but it seemed to be separate from the board interview. sooo.....yeah. Calling the Army hospital probably isnt a bad idea. Even if they say you can't do that they may give you some advice on how to do it.

Generally, if you are going for an AD slot, your recruiter will set up the flight physical. However, as many have experienced, this may not be done in a timely manner. If you are near a NG aviation unit, I would suggest contacting them, let them know you what you are trying to do, and say you are trying to expedite your process. The worst they can say is "no."

So here is what I found out...I have to travel and go to a Army flight surgeon. This can be scheduled by me, along with getting my 368 and other forms ready. Hopefully I can get it all together before March and make the May board.

Good luck with your 368. I've got everything else accomplished. Getting the release has taken the longest. It has to go all the way to the first General Officer in your command. I don't know about you, but I'm a nobody to a General.

Were you able to schedule everything yourself? Or are you working with a recruiter?

I was just deployed so I scheduled everything while I was over. I'm waiting on my 368 before I go to a recruiter.
