adam32
Call me a pussie, I have over 300 hours at night, but if you want me to do that, you'll have to wait 'til the Sun comes up! Usually done on known fields without wires or obstructions of any kind, but I saw many poles and towers in the video......yeah screw that!!!!!
Rotorhead84
Crazy? A bit. Badass? Not really. Kinda par for the course in ag. Not something I would ever do in 100 million years unless I spent a significant amount of time scouting the field during the day. That said I've done plenty of flying under powerlines and spraying at night. Usually with just the landing light and it works well enough. I imagine those spotlights work better than the camera picks up.
GSPilot
Update. it’s been 6 years or so. The ag job was not what I thought it would be. Glad I got the opportunity to see the operation but it ended up not working out. I wound up taking the CFI job later that year and did get my time. Long story short i fly utility operations now and couldn’t be happier. I’ve often thought of this post and all the generous knowledge you guys shared. Thanks.
