I'm in law school, will be doing this afterwards as well god willing (granted, most likely for the Guard). Personally having served before, sometimes you just realize you've gotta do it. As you know, it's not throwing anything away if you're not happy... and the PhD isn't going anywhere. Best of luck. My dream was also to be an astronaut, but something tells me Nasa ain't looking for lawyers... except maybe to use as test dummies.
