Guest peterogan Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I'm saving up through a part time job to get a private pilot's license both for personal interest and so that is smoothens my WOFT quals a bit more. Thing is, I'm not sure whether to go for the Helicopter PPL or the fixed wing one. Obviously army aviators go helo most of the time, but I've honestly heard arguments for both. Quote
Flim Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 I would just go fixed wing... you will let the Army pay for helo training. I was a high time fixed wing guy going in and the transition was pretty easy. Quote
Creep0321 Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Please read other threads. This identical topic is currently being addressed in the "Help ppl vs fixed ppl" thread. Quote
r22butters Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Damn, another one! I have to ask. Do Airforce wannabees ask this same question about becoming jet pilots?,...'cause I don't recall Richard Gere asking himself this before joining the Navy to fly! Quote
Mendacio Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 Tell me why this is a word for word copy of the thread I posted the day before???Like literally copy and pasted. Quote
jaswhee Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Mendacio you're too young to be asking such questions. Wait till you're in the military...you're going to be asking A LOT of questions. 1 Quote
