I sure owe you a big thank you Azhigher! I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before Indoc. I figure if I get a head start studying, drinking out of the fire hose of knowledge next month will hurt a little less

Not a GXP but at this stage of the game, I'd worry about avionics later.

Congratulation on the new job. I don't know your past experiences, but I trust that you will enjoy the -407GXP. The -407 is a great aircraft and is fun to fly.

However, there are several on-line, interactive G-1000 courses available for under $100.00. I would recommed you do one of those courses..... way more fun and helpful than trying to read thru the 500+ page manual. If you have used a G430 or G530 it will be an easy transistion; even easier if you have flown with a G500H. Once you understand the system architecture, it is just a matter of experience with the system. IMO, Garmin produces the most user friendly avionics on the market. Very intuitive.
