Stump
So, I've seen on here that one key way to study for the SIFT is to read the FAA rotorcraft handbook. Well I'm just about to take my fixed wing PPL checkride on Aug 1st, and my instructor showed me today that I can download the Pilot Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge on Foreflight to smooth over the areas I'm not 100% on for my Oral. Anyways, I was sitting at home and I remembered that not only does foreflight have that for download, it has every single FAA publication for download - including the helicopter flying handbook. Obviously you can download the PDF straight from the FAA, but foreflight makes it easy to study with a proper format and a useful search function. Plus it's paperless and you don't have to go to FedEx Kinkos to print out 200 pages or pay $10 for it off of Amazon. TL;DR: For those of you studying for the SIFT and if you have foreflight - just go to the documents tab at the bottom, click the catalog button at the top right, click FAA, and then scroll down until you find the "helicopter flying handbook".
