Again, I find myself speechless!

Looked to me like he succumbed to a sneezing fit and forgot to fly the helicopter. We will see if the accident report blames it on hay fever.

I hate to Monday morning quarterback anything but... The original reports stated something about straight line winds? Not buying that. He definitely moved the pedals and pulled pitch in order to make the th67 do what it did. Also, why no chalk on the cart....

At 1:17 you can see what appears to be an engine cowl door flapping up, the pilot's door is not closed, and the pilot appears to be moving around in there just before things get crazy. Also, doesn't that type of helicopter usually have a doghouse up on top of the fuselage? Maybe it was being run up during maintenance?

It was a ground run, so perhaps with the person in the pilot seat not being strapped in, and with a flapping door to distract him, and the trolley starting to move (no chocks) and the bird getting light on the skids ..... the holes in the swiss cheese lined up, the chopper lifted off the pad, and it turned to worms.

I call BS on the "straight line wind" theory. Give me a break, someone is trying to CYA on having their cranium up their behind.

That lead blower f*cked it all up...winds from those things just really mess up a helicopter.
