Hey Guys,

SPC Serendensky here, anyone else in this forum registered for the January course?

I am really wondering how the whole switch from 7 weeks to 5 weeks will play out. I am scheduled to report to meps on DEC 18th to transfer from the reserve component to active duty and ship off to reception. Seems like a super long wait since class is supposed to start according to my reservation on 3 Jan not including the change from 5 to 7 weeks.

Did anyone else that came from either another component or street to seat receive PCS orders? It looks like my reservation is classified as a AIT status. If not I wonder if there will be adequate time to move my wife to Rucker post Graduation???

Also, If any recent grads would like to share some tips on expectations and prep that would be appreciated. Have been super anxious since selection.

19-004 here. There are a few more on the forum.

 

If I had to speculate, I would say that we will just graduate 2 weeks earlier than the projected graduation date.

 

Has anyone joined the group outlined on the WOCC blackboard? I do not recall the name, but its supposed to be used as a way to communicate with one another prior to WOCS starting. Ill probably get around to registering for it sometime this week.

Im slotted for 19-004. I have an RFO saying my report date is 18DEC. Phase 1 2JAN-19JAN, and Phase 2 19JAN- 21FEB.

When I went through the report date for guard, reserve and active duty was the same, ten days prior to start date if I remember correctly. That class is probably setup like that to allow inprocessing through the holidays and accounting for the two four day weekends in that time.

Are you confined to the base at that point? My wife and I anticipate moving down prior to the start of WOCS assuming I get my primary dates before then as well.

I dont think youll be confined to the base. Im assuming your going to get block leave, but who knows. When I went to AIT I immediately signed out on block leave for two weeks and flew home. Hopefully someone whose had a similar experience will comment.

I won't be on block leave at that point. I guess it will depend when my orders start. I'm prior service, currently in the Guard so I'm just waiting on official orders at this point.

All normal duty stations usually have somebody to report to. Just report to the staff duty as instructed and theyll get you quarters and with the person youre supposed to meet even if its late

Yeah thats correct. 011...Though the end dates on that list might change if they actually implement the 5week over 7week..

Depending on the class date and type of class you have, whether it be 5 week or 7 week will determine if you have DL to complete prior. Read any emails sent to you multiple times over. For example, while I will be in a 7 week course, Im slotted in ATTRS for the course but will not have any DL. That is unless they decide to send me to a 5 week course. Hope that relatively answers your question FlightWing.

My Reservation is exactly the same. I assume we will in process then send us off from the 24th-2nd. I have thought about moving my wife prior to WOCS but was told there will be plenty of time after to do that.
