Ryan4392
If any recent Air Force personnel have guidance on the when to submit what it would be appreciated. I have a signed 368 from the recruiter but I am unsure in if I need to apply for separation in vMPF now to receive the contingent release email, or route the 368 to my CC and submit that with my package. Thanks to any who can help!
DBActual
I just went through this, I've got a package in for the Sept Board. After you get your 368 signed from the recruiter route it to you Sq CC. Once he/she approves and signs it upload the signed 368 and signed LOI that your recruiter gave you to Voluntary Separation in vMPF. Within vMPF it gets routed to your CC, then Group (or Wing), then to your base MPF. Once its approved at all those levels you'll get a notification from AFPC approving your release pending acceptance into the Army.If at any point you need to check status once submitted in vMPF your CSS can track it through they're systems. Hope that helps.

Ryan4392
DBActual, on block V of the 368 it has a line for valid until date, how does my CC or myself know what that valid until date would be? I assumed the contingent release response would provide that after applying for separation in vMPF. Thanks in advance.
DBActual
Ryan, it's really a swag. I did a year out from the date I submitted it to my CC. It took a few months for mine to come back approved from AFPC and they adjusted my separation RIP to reflect a year out from when they approved it. IIRC a year is the max you can put in for vol sep but I'd have to double check the AFI. Thats Figuring a 2 month board cycle and 6-9 months for a ship date. But a 2nd board pick up would extend that out. Talking with my leadership/CSS if I get picked up and need to extend my seperation date I can go back into vMPF and submit a change date through AFPC. Watch your ETS and/or DEROS dates though because that can throw a wrench in the process.
