Currently active duty Navy, trying to get a flight physical set up. To do so do I need to contact a recuriter first or this something I can do on my own? Any tips from people who have made the switch from another branch would be awesome, thank you everyone!

I didn't need to talk to a recruiter. In fact, I am 95% done with my packet and can count on one hand how many times I've needed a recruiter. EVERYTHING is available online and if you browse enough through VR and Reddit you will find almost all of your answers. I am AF and all I had to do was make the 1.5 hour drive to the nearest Army post a few times in a month to complete my flight physical.

The only thing you'll really need from your the regional Warrant Officer recruiter is your conditional release form signed by them so you can begin the process of that request. You will also need them to run your REDD report for Army GT conversion.

If I needed guidance on certain forms I would call or email. I usually received replies within the same day. The Warrant website has everything required for submission including blank documents and sample documents. Just ensure you fill out the forms properly and before you submit anything, check to make sure the forms have not been updated.

Your biggest hurdle will be to get your conditional release and pass a flight physical. You can get a flight physical through your own service if you can't get one with the Army. The completed flight physical needs to be entered into the AeroMed system after completion. I was lucky in that I hold a current flight physical for aircrew and we use AeroMed. I just had to update a few things with my flight doc. SIFT, APFT, resume, and LORs are all within your control. Stay frosty.
