I tried. Lol. You do you my friend.

My final words to you, as a Section Sgt 15T, the difference in experience between Romeos and Uniforms and Tangos is night and day.

It's up to you to decide what you truly, passionately want to do. Not just, "I'll try this and that, or get out and work for dyna corp"

You're still so very young with a billion options ahead of you. Don't be so hateful to limit your doors.

PS: Anything you "heard" is irrelevant. What matters is the regulations and what people in the actual jobs tell you. (Real Pilots, not Reddit)

Alright thankyou, ill see whats on the options Via tangos and uniforms tomorrow, see if i can get one.

Honestly thinking about it would rather do that, then get stuck doing Apache maintenance all day, dont get me wrong no hate on those guys but you are correct being Uniforms and Tangos would be alot better, and as i heard on some other recruiters and such that it would be better for experience to enlist, coming from some WO recruiters who do alot of them. Just been thinking alot today, overthinking as you would put it, and realized that its not always just about rushing things, maybe if i even like being a 15T or 15U i might just stay there, but frankly that would be a better route then just going in as a 15R and not getting any flight experience. I would rather have the ability to do more things and not be limited then just limit my self to only a few options.

Certainly doesn't hurt. If you really want to enlist first pick any job you would enjoy -- and then excel at that job. There were probably more combat arms guys than aviation guys in my WOCS class.

My info is a bit old as my WOFT packet was completed in 2009, but I'm going to offer some advice anyway.

I was in your shoes, 20 years old, restless, wanting to fly and join the military.  Back then I was gung-ho on joining one way or another and had I not been accepted I intended to enlist.  Hindsight being what it is, I'm very fortunate it didn't come to that.

The recruiting battalion leadership has one goal in mind.  Getting you to sign up.  They're going to offer avenues to you, and some of them are going to be the LONG way around.  All of them will result in you signing up in the near future.  They aren't looking out for you.  Don't let them talk you into something you don't really want.

Each board is different, and as long as you have a strong packet you're in a good spot to wait it out.  Once you join the military you're competing with a whole new set of metrics, and it may not work in your favor.

It's like buying a car.  You want the silver GT350, so you go to the dealership looking for one.  The closest they can get you today is a silver GT so they're going to try and sell you that because it will make them money today.  It's a Mustang, and it's pretty quick, same color, but it's not a GT350.  But they talk you into it and you buy it.  Next month they get delivery of the exact GT350 you were looking for, and they even e-mail you to tell you it's there!  But unfortunately for you, you're upside down on that GT and are stuck with it for 3 years before you'll have the freedom to get out from under it.  Bummer.

Don't buy the GT, wait for the GT350.

So far, I have only seen WOFT guys with results. Has anyone seen/heard about the AD board? No MILPER message has been posted, and none of my recruiters are answering the phone.

WOFT gets notified before us. Our results will be out NLT Friday closeout.
