Kmac1016 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone has some kind of insight on this because I've been given multiple answers. I start WOCS in February 2021. I initiated my physical September 2019, it was finished November 2019, and was stamped approved January 2020. I'm not sure what month to go off of for the expiration date. I read that it cant expire while I am attending WOCS and I have an 18 month window. I finish WOCS 17 March. Which could be cutting it close if it expires that month and not sure what happens if it expires right after WOCS. Any insight or information from someone in a similar situation would be extremely helpful. Quote
SBuzzkill Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 (edited) “All FDMEs of initial-entry flight training applicants are valid for 18 months from the date of examination in accord- ance with AR 40–501. Applicants pending selection or processing for a class must maintain class 1A standards and must have an updated class 1A examination if their report of examination expires before they join a training class.” AR 611-110 Para. 3-3 c. https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/ARN8282_AR611-110_WEB_FINAL.pdf If you need further guidance you should contact the school directly. Do it ASAP as you don’t have a lot of time. Edited October 5, 2020 by SBuzzkill Quote
Kmac1016 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 The confusion is I'm not sure which dates to go off of. The part one started september 25, but part 2 wasnt completed until november. 18 months puts me at either march 25 or may, depending on which date I go off of. either one has me still qualified past my graduation date of WOCS. It's just not by much Quote

It only took me one trip and they reused a bunch of my first one to just knock it out so it was current. We’re in the same WOCS class I look forward to meeting you! Quote
Kmac1016 Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Awesome me too! I went to the flight surgeon last week and he said "it was stamped approved in January so I'd just go with that." Which was different than everything I've heard. I guess I'll just try to redo it quick. But they want me to redo the entire thing again so I figured itd take too long at this point. I just came back from deployment so I'm trying to get a lot done. Quote

It's just not by much https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/pdf/web/ARN8672_P40_502_FINAL.pdf According to DA Pam 40-502 (linked above) Class 1 Physicals are to be recorded on DD 2807-1 and DD 2808 forms. Find those forms, you should have copies. IIRC they should be in your WOFT packet. At the top of your DD 2808 Report of Medical Examination, block #1, is “date of examination.” Edit: There’s an example ^ Again, if you think it’s too close and need further guidance, just contact them directly and ask. https://usacac.army.mil/organizations/cace/wocc/courses/wocs Looks like there are some POCs listed at that link.
