Seth101 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 I’m currently an 11b but considering switching mos’ to 15t once my re enlistment window comes how difficult is it to go from just doing maintenance to being a crew chief? Quote
StockTrader Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 Crew chiefs are also maintainers. Its not like you become a crew chief who just flies and thats it. I would say flying is just one of their many duties. Quote
GHawk Posted March 24, 2021 Posted March 24, 2021 I'm currently a flight company commander in the ARNG and we pull our crew chiefs, almost exclusively, from the 15Ts in the maintenance company. I don't know how active duty handles it but that's how every crew chief starts out for us. Quote
zion Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Immediately on arrival to the flight BN, voice that you want a flight company; they may send you right away. If not, reach out to your PSG, the flight company 1SG, or flight company FI/IP's. Many times, the maintenance company doesn't want to let go of a good soldier, so you may have to be persistent.
