I’m going to the board in October but I was told that it could take up to a year or two to get to to training. So in the meantime I’m going to be going to college. I was wondering what degree would benefit me and what colleges in Texas if anyone had any recommendations

Being in the Army Guard, once completing your degree, you may have the option in switching to the USAF Air National Guard or Reserves in flying for them. It's done quite often.

Is there an F-22A in Hawaii in your future in the Air National Guard?

Mechanical Engineering. Good income prospects with the major, and will definitely help you understand whirly-bird stuff, though definitely isn’t “required.”

This is a new rumor that I have not heard before. The USAREC Website still states the receipt of Orders within 90 days of selection.

Does anyone have any additional info?  With the 10 year ADSO and DOR being reverted to the Date of Winging for WO1s and 2LTs, an additional 2-year wait has enormous implications for prospective aviators.

He is Guard, they have a whole different timeline with sending candidates to Rucker. Once there however the Guard/Reserve guys are frequently pushed through the fastest and will bump active Soldiers out of classes if they need a spot.

Additionally, orders within 90 days does not mean your report date can't be 6-12 months down the road after that.
