Hi

Do the US Army supply moving costs for relocation to AL for flight school? I live on the West Coast and if I get accepted I will keep my current house as my wife is staying put due to her job. Is there a few weeks settle in period where they will have an apartment set up for me and give me time to adjust (find a place to live) Or are you expected to find a place before you move?

Thanks

Are you in the military? Are you a warrant officer? Are you an officer coming from OCS/branch transfer?  Or are you enlisted to warrant? Or are you civilian to warrant?

Then you’ll PCS there like any other duty station. sounds like you’ll be a geo Bachelor while attending the flight school portion. But before that you’ll have to attend and graduate WOCS. During WOCS you will live in Barracks.

After WOCS, I lived on base for about a year then I moved off post. When I went through in 2008 there was a large training bubble which delayed training to about 18 months. I’ve heard that it’s now half that, but again, I’m not sure.  Others lived off post the entire time during flight school.  I was a geo-bachelor as well while there (my wife and I are dual mil)

Due to COVID considerations(of which I am not privy to) they may have policies in place that would mandate you staying on base/post.

Which military branch are you serving in.? Guard or active?

I am Guard. So it’s little different now from what I heard. As I am in the guard from what I hear, you go WOCS and then come home, wait for a long time and then go Flight School. I’ve never PCS’ed before so not sure how that all works.

Ahh. I would talk to the aviation guard unit that you’ll be flying for. Maybe they have someone that went through the program recently.
