Lower time pilot looking to build hours

Recommended Posts

My name is Cody,

I am a lower time pilot getting my foot in the door looking for any extra work such as ferry/maintenance flights, short term/long term jobs. Willing to travel for the position.

For the past 2 fire seasons I have been Flying as a co-pilot to fly the S-61 and S-64 Skycrane for wildland firefighting missions. During this time, I proved myself to be very level-headed and a valuable asset when flying in hazardous environments and have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

My previous work experience includes being a Senior Wildland Firefighter on both Hotshot and Helitack crews. During my off season from firefighting, I am proud to have completed my Commercial License and Instrument Rating at Jerry Trimble Helicopters in McMinnville, Oregon.

After this next fire season I should have 500 hours and will meet Part 135 requirements. I understand my hours are low and probably don't meet most insurance requirements but if there are opportunities please let me know.

I am willing to come out to you and do a test flight with you to see if I would be a good fit for your company and would be able to start as soon as possible.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely,

Cody Thompson
