helidoc
Anybody made the conversion to the elastomeric dampers yet and has it been worth it?
birddog
helidoc, can you make the conversion on an "A" model?
helidoc
Theoretically I guess you could since the rotor heads are the same for the most part. Unfortunatly, I think is presently is only for the 480 models with the right transmission. For example, I have a 1998 480 model and in order to mount the dampers I have to have the transmission take out so they can modify to the larger diameter main rotor mast. In other words, your transmission and mast have to be up to the newer 480B specs. Hopefully they will work on getting the piston models certified in the future as people tell me the new dampers are like a dream come true in getting rid of the Enstrom shuffle on start up and fly smoother too. It is just a little expensive now.
