HeliDoc,

What's up with that 280FX that's been for sale in Tennessee for nearly a year? It's only got 400 hours but it's advertised as having a new engine.

It's obviously your former ship. How many "California Surgeons" traded in a 280FX on a new 480?

I'm a big Enstrom fan myself, and I notice that used Enstroms don't hang around on the market for very long. This one looks like it ought to be a very desirable ship.

What's the scoop?

I traded it for the 480 after the annual was done. I am not quite sure what happened but I hear that about after 20 hours or so the engine failed. I was not able to get the true scoop from the dealer but others have told me that someone overreved it, blew a rod through the side of the case and so he had to put a new motor in it. As a result he has a fair amount in it that he needs to get out of it making it a little costly. He seems to enjoy flying it and says he is in no hurry to sell it. I ran into some one this weekend who said it has been sold now to a new owner in California. In any case this is all second hand. The ship has had 4 now 5 owners in its short life but I believe it has always been well cared for and never gone wanting for anything. I hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as I did.
