flingwing206
30 years is great! 1150 hours is not so good... So, tips: #1 Avoid flying in the rain whenever possible - rain eats rotor blades. Same for dust, grit, sand. - keep them clean and waxed (with approved materials, of course). Don't use WD-40 - it attracts dirt even if it makes it easier to get the bugs off. We use red Wash Wax (and a non-abrasive scrub pad for the tough bugs). - I have no idea if Enstrom allows this, but on the Schweizers we repaint the leading edges with epoxy propeller paint. The blades usually go to their hour-life limit. - avoid moisture with freezing conditions, if moisture gets into a seam or gap and freezes, it can start some serious damage. I'm sure other folks have lots of good ideas!
