Goldy Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 On that note of safe practices... I remember the whole familiy driving to Disney World Orlando in Dad's 1977 Caprice "Station Wagon"...we'd throw a "full" size matress in the back and my sister and I (7yrs. old and 5yrs. old respectively) would go sprawled out in the back of this vehicle...going 65 mph on the highway...secured in place only by a blanket and some pillows (I guess those were the air-bags). Car-seats are over-rated --- huh Goldy!!! ***Please forgive me for the non-helicopter story*** Yeah, I forgot to mention we had the really low inertia rotor blades back then, no weight added in the tips....made autos even more interesting.....you guys dont know how easy you have it now!! I remember riding on the rear deck panel of my dad's Chrysler going cross country across I 40 at about age 5 or 6...I dont think it even had seat belts....geeez, I thought flying helo's was dangerous !!
