Training Aid, Pilot Area Familiarization

Some of you have probably already used this program from Google: Google Earth

 

I use it here in Alaska when I am flying to a new location so I can see terrain and find bad weather routes. It would be a great aid for CFI's teaching X-Country Flight planning to students. Some of the views are detailed enough so the student can read runway numbers and even see which hangars to land at or avoid.

 

I just use the free version. Here's a sample screen shot of PRC Airport, Arizona.
