Robinson R-44

I thought of this whilst driving to work the other day and wanted the VR Forum's opinion...

Since the R-44 is very popular in the utility market, espcially up in Canada... How come there is no version with all the seats removed? Seems to me you could fit a lot more "stuff" and "gear" if there was a version with no seats in the back. Not sure you could add much of a gross weight increse because that stuff is pretty light.

Anyone know of an operator out there who has done so? Just a thought....

I'm at Robinson Safety school, even as we speak. I heard an instructor say that Robinson was considering a utility version of the 44 (probably 44-II, I guess). No time frame mentioned.

It would make sense to me... yank the seats out and put some gear back there.

PA Pilot-

I hope you are enjoying Robbi school!

I'm having a ball! I really, I mean REALLY enjoyed the flight portion today. I got to do some things that I've never been trained in before - autos from an OGE hover, recovery from vortex ring state, a whole bunch of other autos - FUN!
