Do I need to start again?

Gettingaround

Recommended Posts

Hi, Looking for some comments.

I did 60 Hours in bell47 & R22 5 years ago in OZ.

I haven't flown since & I want to get back into it.

I'd like to do 10 hours over a couple of weeks and then try to stay

current with a couple of hours every month.

Anyone been in a simliar situation? realistically how long do you think it

would take to be back in the saddle and feel competent again?

I would like to be at a level where I can enjoy flying in a private

environment as well as taking a few friends along.

I have a PPL Oz with Commercial Theory.

I now live on Montreal in Canada I'm looking into redoing the PPL

exams as a review then sit the Commercial exam in Canada.

There is Helicraft in St-hubert and Passport Helico at Beloeil that are good schools in the area. Call them and ask them.

Price is around 430$/hr for Hu300 CB and 400$/hr for R22.

Thanks DaedalusX,

I'm going to check Helicraft at some stage, it's close to where I am. But I am also checking out some places just over the border, it's about 200Can cheapier an hour. So im looking into my options.

Thanks

I had stopped flying for 16 years, when I started back again, I figured it would be no sweat..basically I started over, taking about 12 hours to re-solo again...I think after 5 years you could pick it back up in 10 hours or less..

Fly safe, Goldy
