Brownie
I used to work behind a desk in DC for a United States Senator. I didn't receive the position by bloodline, like most people I worked with-I EARNED it-as a kid from a blue-collar family on a football scholarship to college and valedictorian from high school. Now, I am wanting a change of pace from sending out form letters to people who don't understand politics, because the reality has set in that moving up that ladder might never come. Anyway, I've always wanted to become a pilot. I've looked at everything from Helicopter training, to going to Williams-Gateway in Phoenix(due to a family member living nearby) to learn to fly regionals, to enlisting in the Air National Guard. As you can tell, I am DESPERATE for some good advice. Since I am only 24, what would a good career path for me to consider? Keep in mind, I don't own property, but have great credit, so the maximum amount on a loan that I could take out from Sallie Mae would be 40k. And NO, I am not able to have a cosigner being that I am single(parents can't sign either). I have my undergraduate degree in Organizational Communication with a minor in Recreation and Sports Management from Time Magazine's Liberal Arts College of the Year 2001. I am well aware of sales practices and techniques(I did work on Capitol Hill!). I have the physical requirements, just not the money!! So could someone please throw out some intricate ideas for me to look into...schools for training/working. Thanks so much!! --Brownie

It's kinda like selling Ginsu knives but what the hell, you could end up owning the business.
Helo-Pilot
You need to get that Senator you work for to pull a few strings and have you appointed to flight training.
