Here's a pic that appeared on another (non-helicopter) forum. Having never flown one of these beasts, I find it very impressive. I was curious as to what other pilots who have flown one think.

I saw little higher quality version of this picture about 2 years ago..notice that the rear wheel has actully punched through the roof. pretty unreal.

Landings like that were common.

 

The hooks did a great job over there and continue to do so.

 

 

BTW, it wasnt a rescue. It was a POW or "PUC" pickup.

BTW its the crewmembers in the back that tell the pilots where to put the wheels i used to be a crewmember on chinooks (air crew cordination) not to take away from the pilots just to let people know
