icqa
I came across a reference to the David Clark X11 headset. It appears to be comparable to the Bose X but looks like it's only for airplanes. Has anyone used this? Any way to adapt this for helicopter use? thx
nbit
Check the headset adapters like the "General Aviation to Helicopter" adapter found here. Look around, and you can find them cheaper, if price is an issue. I've seen them from $16-$93...On a side note... Try headsets before you buy them, if at all possible. Glad I was able to on my last purchase. I found a pilot shop where you could compare them all at the same place, feel the comfort, and try the ANR, with and without background noise. The results were surprising. Glad I didn't get the headset originally sought after. Good luck.
fly2pb
I have the DC X11. Save your money. They are absolutley terrible!!. I have a set of Bose ANR which work great. I purchased the DC's because I was interested in the ability use an I-pod and cell phone which Bose does not offer. The issue is the DC's ANR or lack of. I literally thought they were defective but my friends are equally bad. The ANR is almost not there. Spend the extra 200.00 and get the Bose! Gerhardt
no need to save for the Bose. They have the SSH plan where they'll hit your credit card for $82/month for each of 12 months.
