ARMYAV8R
well..I suppose I am a wanna be, although I have been "flying" in the helicopters I soon hope to be piloting...Just waiting for a school seat to Ft Rucker, then officially will be a "student" but, I will be getting paid to be a student..so...hmmm..lol anyway..yeah wanna be for now! I voted wanna-be even though I am a used-to-be. I flew Seahawks in the military and currently instruct fixed wing part time. I am joining the ANG to fly Blackhawks and should be heading to Blackhawk training at the end of February. Rob, what state you flyin for? we just had a guy to make the same switch here in VA, wondering if it was you??

Autorotator
Professional but still learning every day. Does that make me a professional student? Great answer! Love how honest some people are in here!
Dominis
I'm a wannabe. Hopefully someday time and money will come my way. (Basically once I start, I want to get as many hours in as possible.) A friend of mine told me at least 10 hours.

Hovergirl
Professional but still learning every day. Does that make me a professional student? I think if you're not learning every day you're not very professional. HVG
ChprPlt
I got my CFI about a month ago. I'm not currenly employed as a CFI yet but I voted professional because it made me feel good!
mtbman07
Hey just because you're not "employed" doesn't mean you're not "employable" so I think that definitely counts.
IFLY
Student.I have a glider commercial and I'm waiting on my Helicopter commercial checkride to be scheduled this month. Then time to start my training syllabus for CFI in Helicopters, Gliders, and Airplanes all at the same time. Should be fun!

EC120AV8R
Pro...but, also doing it for fun. Because if it wasn't fun, my other option is to go back to driving a Crown Victoria and handling barking dog calls on the midnight shift. chamerican
Professional. I think there's a good mix of students and less wanna-be's. There are also those such as myself just plain trying to get info on markets that we know little about.
GreenMachine
Originally voted as a Wanna-be. I took an intro flight last Saturday, and just scheduled my next training for Monday morning. So I'm upgrading myself to Student status.
1badz32
wow, thread up from the dead, straight up wanna-be for me. Even though i have 13hrs stuck wing.I still asspire to fly flingwing.
diverturnedpilot
I would consider "Professional" as someone that makes their living flying. I was a commercial pilot for several years before it became my sole occupation. I still consider myself a rookie is some respects. Although I have flown offshore and currenly fly EMS; there are a lot of pilots with much more experience than myself. And like many others here expressed ...you're alway learning! I went through all of those..Wanna-be...and now Professional. IT CAN BE DONE!

Today Alex is a captain flying EC130's in the ditch. Kinda cool to see the old posts. Good luck all! Goldy
