skabetti
I finally took my first demo flight last week and loved every minute of it...except for the fact that I was pretty motion sick when we touched down (and for a few hours afterward.) I've been up one other time a couple years ago and had no problems. Could this just be nerves/excitement that I'm finally pursuing this as a new career possibility? Can you get your "sea legs" like you do on a ship? Or is the fact that I'm sick on my first flight an indicator that maybe this isn't for me? Gerhardt
It's probably just nerves, but you'll never know until you take your second flight.

It looked absolutely miserable and it still confuses me since it is not at all fear-based...if she took enough dramamine she LOVED being up there (until she fell asleep!). I wish you enormous luck in overcoming it!!!!!!! Keep us posted.
FlyGirl86
i too got sick on my intro flight. Had the whole "sea legs" and everything even though i had been in helicopters many many times before. I have almost 30 hours in flight time now and i havent had a problem with it at all. Even during autos, some iwth really bad entries where your stomach drops. Hopefully you will be fine once you start flying regularly. I know I was. Good luck to you and keep up updated
volition
I felt the same way too during my first flights!! You'll be fine!!
DebosDave
I haven't been motion sick in the helo yet, but in fixed wing, while the instructor has put it into unusual attitudes, I feel it a bit. What I have found to work best for me is to eat something light before I fly, and to make sure I don't get too hot... HTH Dave
i4iq
I didnt like my first flight - the door was off and I really wanted to avoid a right turn as it made my stomach turn. After I was given the controls I was concentrating so hard I didn't have time to think about it. Now I have no problems. Keep trying, you'll probably be fine.
