Brackett Field Breakfast Fly-In

Greetings!

I've been talking to Goldy, and we're going to do a fly in breakfast at Brackett Field on Dec. 2nd. We'll each be flying in separately. I'm pretty sure Goldy will have a passenger, as so will I.

I'm extending the invitation to anyone that wants to join the fly in breakfast at Norm's Hangar Restaraunt. Norm's has a good breakfast BTW! Either PM me, or Goldy if you're interested.

I talked to both the tower and airport office, and there is room for at least one more helicotper. Transient parking is temp. closed, but there are 2 pads to the west of Norm's, and one ship can park by Norm's.

Any takers?

Rob

  • 3 weeks later...

I brought this back up because we are meeting this Saturday, at this point we assume pretty good weather. Any of the group are welcome...just fly or drive on in....flying is always so much better. Dont forget the Rose Bowl USC/UCLA game is on...so there will be a 3 mile or 3000 feet TFR over the bowl for most of Saturday.

Rob & Roger...Thanks for the invite...the fly in was way too cool....to fly in, grab a cup of coffee and spend a few minutes with others that love to fly helicopters was really a lot of fun. We have to work on our timing though !! And to top it off, I was in a hurry to get back to VNY before 10, and that pilot cancelled his flight due to the wind.

BTW, it was a great day today...just VNY had winds of 25-30 Knots..which made my landing...well..interesting at best....just turning downwind was a challenge !

Anyway...thanks to both. Lets do it again in a few weeks...maybe Jan 6th..which is the first Saturday of the month..same place...8:30.

All are invited, lets see how many we can get next month !

I remember turning downwind once to land at Ford Island on Oahu and the aircraft went through ETL from the back to the front.
