My plans is to earn my private thru CFII, now what I would like to now is there a chance that I get employment here in NY and make a living of it. Or I would have to move out of state or even country. Thanks in advance for the feedback....

there are a number of flight schools you can work at in new york, if you talking about being close to the, three come to mind: Wings Air in westchester, Helicopter Flight Training, INC out on long island, and another one at republic airport who's name escapes me but they are also out on long island. Once you have 1000 hours, there are 2 or maybe even 3 tour services, they are mostly based out of linden, NJ. There are also a bunch of private services based in NJ and NY. So yes, there are a bunch of places that you can apply to work for. WIlll they hire you? I don't know, but more importantly, can you afford to live in the city on a starting pilots pay check? :o

Yeah, that's Long Island Helicopter. That's where I've been taking lessons. It's a small school with just one R22 so they don't have any set office hours, but as far as I know if you leave a message they will return your call.

The cheapest school around here is Helicopter Flight Training INC out in ronkonkoma. Its $225 for dual and $190 something for solo. Its a well known school, scheduleing isn't a big problem (two 22's and two 44's), and the helicopters are very well maintained (the owners are both A&P's, and thats really the money stream, not so much the flight school). They only crappy part is that its an hour from the city. If you don't have a car, LIRR is your best bet since the airport is a 15-20 minute walk from the train stop or a 5 minute drive if you take a taxi.

Thanks again AndrewT for the feedback, I been trying to get in contact with Long Island Helicopter but I always get the answer machine. I visit them yesterday and the office was close I'm going to try to leave them a message. I visit Helicopter Flight Training and I like how they operate, I really want to check out Long Island Helicopter before I decide. I will keep you posted.......
