napalm Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I have been looking for a good magazine on helicopter operations with an emphasis on safety. I subscribe to aviation safety but all of its articles are focused on fixed wing. Anyone know of a similar type magazine for rotory wing? Rotor & Wing looks good but not much on safety. Quote
Linc Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Bell puts out a safety periodical that focuses on flight Safety, Human AD. I'm not sure if any other helicopter manufacturer does that. Bell also provides safety certificates in recognition of hours flown without accidents. I do know that a few other manufacturers do that as well. Heli-Ops recent issue has an article on operations safety and the continuing adoption of risk management by operators/owners. Quote
HelliBoy Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 the Professional Helicopter Pilots Association (PHPA) have a great mag. with lots of safety oriented material called Autorotate, and a newsletter. ($60 membership)Mags like rotor & wing and vertical have dedicated safety/training sections which are worth the subscriptions themselves. Swinging a free R&W subscription is pretty easy too.If you find a mag dedicated to helicopter safety let me know because I want it. Quote
Goldy Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Vertical magazine is the best..Heli-Ops also has a safety column in each issue. Both are helicopter only mags. Quote
