John90290 Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 ...my instructor! Solo flight today in a 300c with high skids at 42 hours. I’ve been ready since at least 30 but that damn Nor’easter wouldn’t let up. no worries, all that practice just made me feel better about today. Winds were at 8 today so we went for it; unfortunately by the time I got up there, gusting at 12+. No problem since we’ve been flying in wind all winter. I felt cautious but confident thanks to all the studying, practicing and of course, help from you guys and gals at VR. Thanks! Quote

John90290 Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 That's great. I solo'd with about the same number of hours, it was exciting. Congrats!Where are you training ? Paul I am training in New York at Westchester county airport (HPN). It's the busiest GA airport in the country I’ve heard so you get a lot of radio work and lots of traffic to watch. The school is Wings Air LLC. http://www.wingsair.net/ The owner is great, maintenance is always a top priority and the instructor is also top notch. My check ride on Friday was with the local police department pilot with thousands of hours; pretty intimidating at first. He was a great guy and I learned so much from the stage check ride that I had to literally write it down as soon as we landed so I wouldn’t forget. Good times. Quote
