Heli-Ops Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Dear (close) friends of CareFlight Good news, and even better news. Restaurant owner, and man with a "big heart", John Szangolies is continuing to support CareFlight. His latest effort, that will involve all of us who want to be part of it, is a "Hops Festival" that will be held at The Rocks in March ... so please read on. In recent years John, as you may recall, has raised in excess of $300,000 for CareFlight with his annual "Reds Dinner". Alas, no more $200 a head dinners ... but ... John's new event, at the Argyle Centre in the Rocks, is the Hops Festival ... and it will be one of the biggest and most exciting fundraisers of the year when it all takes place on Thursday night 20 March. The Hops Festival will be a huge party in true Bavarian fun atmosphere ... as John's Lowenbrau Bierhall flows out of the Keller into the entire function centre, courtyard and all ... Steins of Bavarian beers ... Schnapps bar with DJ ... Oom Pah Pah band ... wines ... strolling entertainment ... an auction ... great food and lots of it ... all night !!! John wants us to get at least 700 people to party with him. That's right, we have to find 700 people to pay just $120 a head (or $1,000 for a "table" of 10) ... and every single cent goes to CareFlight. John Szangolies is paying for the lot (drinks, food, bands, entertainment, venue, his staff) so our charity can fully benefit. There's only one thing I need from everyone at, and associated with, CareFlight ... names. The Hops Festival will be a great party, and huge fund-raiser only if we can find 700 (or even 1,000) to share the fun. So, we need the names and addresses of people we can invite -- with a reasonable expectation they and their friends might come along. The invitations are being printed now ... so please do what you can (and hopefully also put yourself in -- as I certainly will, and John Szangolies will too as a paying participant) for the inaugural Hops Festival of 2003. Please respond with names & addresses. To me (ianb@careflight.org), or to Belinda Yates in fundraising at Westmead info@careflight.org Cheers! -- Ian Badham, Executive Director, NRMA CareFlight.
