Yes, I'll have to google that up and see if it'll be re-running in any IMAX theatre anytime soon. Often, they repeat. HarleyDave
The company in that video is Haverfield Aviation, I took a bunch of photos of them working in New Jersey over the last few months. Their official web site is http://www.teamhaverfield.com/index.html That video shows only one type of work they do unfortunately. I was amazed by the skill of their pilots. I saw them doing long line work, transfering linemen on and off the steel towers, and do hands on work on the wires with a lineman on the left skid. The pilots were incredible. The linemen were quite amazing too. Twenty degrees outside, hanging off a ladder, holding onto freezing cold tools, as the wind blows against their 200 foot AGL tower. I'm so glad I ran into them the way I did, otherwise I wouldn't be going for my rotary wing license. I'm still in the process of Fed Ex'ing my work to them, otherwise I would share my photos. I want to make sure that a. they have the first viewing of the shots and b. that they dont mind me sharing them with people. All of their people were friendly and professional that I talked to. Im sorry to say that they packed up and left NJ a few days ago. The valley I live in doesn't sound the same without one or two MD 500's beating up the atmoshpere. I got barked at on many occasions by local residents who were just dieing to complain to someone about the noise, and they kept mistaking me for a supervisory type! Its hard to convince the general public that one is just a free lance photographer, doing free work for sh*ts ang giggles when theyve allready labeled you otherwise in their own personal reality. (A situation that is believed to be real will become real in its consequences.)

helicodger pilot
Straight Up: Helicopters in Action. Was an IMAX movie made for/by the Smithsonian. I got a copy of it as a Father's day present last week and thoroughly enjoyed watching it. It's made for general audiences of course, not specifically for pilots, but still it was refreshingly lacking in the usual Hollywood innacuracies/ misconceptions. Whch is what you'd kinda expect from the Smithsonian. It must have been filmed before the Comanche program got axed 'cause there's a segment about how the Comanche is the cutting edge of RW development (which may still be true, for that matter). Running time is 1.4 hrs and like a good flight, I was sorry when it was over. I'll bet it's REALLY good on the IMAX screen!
ToTall
in the IMAX video you see Spider sitting on the platform and Joe, Haverfields CP flying.
Ace
Have that video and enjoy watching it once every month or so. Like Helicodger said, it's more for a general audience than the pilot, hence the video was made for the IMAX experience, but good nonetheless.
