robert reed Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Hello Gentlemen, I am new to this group and a fixed wing pilot (please do not hold this against me!) I am here seeking help IDing two unfinished kit helos I found abandoned in a barn. I know they cannot be made flyable but since anything aviation fascinates me and they are such an unusual design I have to try and find something out about them. Here is the description: Composite fuse, fully enclosed, square steel tubing center structure in the belly, from nose to tail boom with attachment points for engine. seats and controls, conventional controls (cyclic , collective, and rudders), tubular aluminum landing skid and here is the kicker: NO tail rotor! there is a large "flying rudder" (no fixed vertical stab) and a small stabilator and these are NOT gyrocopters. I found a few papers with them and they were labled "Sky Star and Sky Hawk Air Jet Helicopters" with a Colorado Springs CO adress. There was even a company business card with the name Mike Diekman on it. I have scoured the net with no luck. You folks are my last hope. I can send pics to interested parties. Thanks,Robert Reed Quote
Rotorlite Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Robert,In reference to your post in 2007: I am very interested in the Air Jet helicopters you found in a barn. I know a lot the history of these if you are interested, what they are, etc. I have devoted a lot of time doing research on such helicopters. Best regards, John at Rotorlite Quote
