OhhAndy Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 I have been in a career field for 12yrs and am thinking about changing it up and becoming a pilot. I am currently making $70,000 a year as a service tech. at a utility company. My major concern is paying out 45g for schooling and then getting thrown into the mix with a bunch of other cookie cutter pilots just out of school and trying to make a living on 20g a year while paying back a HUGE loan, you do you do it? I keep hearing that the Market is very good for pilots just out of school but I look on all of the job pages and see maybe 30-50 listing scattered all over the world that a new pilot could do. How is this a good thing when you have thousands of people laying their resumes out on the web begging companies to hire them, just to get flight hours??? I am not being sarcastic, I just want a real word perception of the business from new pilots and employers, not a flight schools perspective thats looking for my money. Thanks guys! Quote
